Donna C. Fortney, MA, LPC |

Donna Fortney practices in Centreville and has been a member of the NVLPC Board since 2005, assisting, then chairing the Sterling Luncheons until 2009. She helped increase participation by introducing various expert, mental health speakers. She introduced the marketing table to help members network more effectively. Since 2007 she has been the Chair of the Website Committee, spearheading our online presence for NVLPC. Donna was Vice President between 2011 and 2012 and was the leader in bringing NVLPC through the incorporation and non-profit/tax-exempt status process to fruition. Lizbeth Sam, LPC, DAPA, CRS is Director of Clinical Services of Red Cedar Counseling, diplomate of the American Psychotherapy Association and certified relationship specialist. Lizbeth received her Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Bowie State University in 1996 and her Bachelor's degree in Premedical Studies from Goucher College in 1993.
For over 15 years, she has provided professional counseling and coaching to children, teens, families, couples and adults in the areas of Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, Combat Stress, School Adjustments & Underperformance, ADHD, Personality Disorders, Military Families, Divorce Recovery, Relationships, Trauma, Conflict & Anger Management, Medical related psychiatric issues, Life Coaching and Personal Development.

Andrea Anderson, MA, LPC |

Andrea Anderson is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor with a private practice in McLean, Virginia. She is the founder of Life Change LLC as well as the Executive Director and CEO of Andrea Anderson, LPC, LLC. Andrea received her Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling. Her clinical focus is on the care and treatment of adults; providing individual and couples counseling as well as professional consultation to licensed counselors in the mental health field. In addition to providing counseling services, Andrea conducts presentations and seminars to train counselors in the field on new treatment methodology and supplementing skills and knowledge base of mental health professionals. Andrea has uniquely merged her academic and professional expertise with an engaging public speaking and teaching talent. Her ability to impeccably integrate the complexities of psychology and interpersonal neurobiology with psycho-therapeutic techniques provides both her clients and audience with an informative and rewarding experience. Sumita A. Changela, MA |

Sumita A. Changela, MA, NCC is a graduate from Marymount University, currently a Resident in Counseling at The Women’s Center in Vienna, Virginia. Her experience ranges in working with individuals coping with issues with depression, anxiety, grief or loss, career transitions, acculturation, life-transitions, identity struggles, trauma related to sexual abuse or domestic violence, ADHD, along with childhood disorders. She provides individual, group, career counseling and has a previous background in business.
Sumita’s transition into mental health from business is an example of her continuity to grow and evolve. She has strong commitment to her clients in helping them reach their highest potential in their daily life, while respecting their own unique personality style and pace. She hopes to bring the same enthusiasm and energy to a growing organization through promotion of NVLPC goals, project coordination, and creating member awareness.

Tamara L. Sheridan, MA, LPC |

Tamara has been in private practice in Lansdowne since 2006. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Registered Play Therapist. Tamara received her MA in Counseling from Marymount University in 2001 and became licensed as an LPC in 2005. Her clinical experience is primarily with children, teens and families and she has worked in a variety settings including outpatient, inpatient, day treatment and residential treatment programs. She believes in the power of play and all expressive modalities and utilizes this approach in her practice.
