About the Event: |
| |
This presentation will provide information that every mental health provider needs to know about Lyme disease - what it is, how it presents, and the issues that face patients and their families -- as well as the co- infections that can make a miserable disease even worse. The presenter will talk about her experience working with clients who came in with "typical" mental health symptoms only to be subsequently diagnosed with Lyme disease and at least one co-infection.
As a clinician, it is imperative that you familiarize yourself with this disease because you may have already been "introduced." The Virginia Health Department recently issued statistics revealing that one in six Loudoun County families is directly affected by Lyme disease.
